Excursions

Throughout the year various excursions are organised by teachers to support and enhance the curriculum. Notes informing parents of these excursions will be sent home in advance of the day of the excursion. Signed parental permission must be provided for all excursions.

Year 5 Camp

Year 5 students are given the opportunity to attend school camp at Emu Gully on the Helidon. The program made available to our children is excellent.

The activities at the Helidon campus are purpose-built for developing teamwork and leadership and are typically based around epic events in our history. Each program focuses on the character values of Courage, Mateship, Sacrifice and Perseverance and are professionally facilitated to enhance learning outcomes both in the moment and with application to real life.

We believe that children benefit greatly from the Emu Gully experience, both socially and educationally.

To find out more, visit the Emu Gully website at https://www.emugully.com.au/ External link.

Year 6 Camp

Our Year 6 students are given the opportunity to be a part of the Wilsonton State School Sydney – Canberra Trip each year. During the week away, students will further develop their knowledge and understanding of Australian history and our system of government, through a variety of real life experiences.

Highlights of the trip include a tour of Parliament House in Canberra, a visit to the Electoral Education Centre and a hands-on science night at Questacon. Students will also visit some of the historical sites of inner Sydney and enjoy an evening at the Quarantine Station at North Head.
