Excursions

Throughout the year various excursions are organised by teachers to support and enhance the curriculum. Notes informing parents of these excursions will be sent home in advance of the day of the excursion. Signed parental permission must be provided for all excursions.

Year 5 camp

Year 5 students are given the opportunity to attend school camp at Tallebudgera Beach School on the Gold Coast. Our school has a long association with the Beach School, and the program made available to our children is excellent.

We believe that children benefit greatly from the Beach School experience, both socially and educationally. Throughout the five day program they are challenged to be their best, work co-operatively with others, solve problems and learn new skills—all while having lots of fun.

Year 6 camp

Our Year 6 students are given the opportunity to be a part of the Wilsonton State School Sydney – Canberra Trip each year. During the week away, students will further develop their knowledge and understanding of Australian history and our system of government, through a variety of real life experiences.

Highlights of the trip include a tour of Parliament House in Canberra, a visit to the Electoral Education Centre and a hands-on science night at Questacon. Students will also visit some of the historical sites of inner Sydney and enjoy an evening at the Quarantine Station at North Head.
