Students will develop their knowledge, skills and understanding
across seven key learning areas. They are:
- Mathematics
- English
- Science
- Humanities and
Social Sciences (HASS)
- Health and Physical
Education
- The Arts
- Digital Technology
– Years 1 – 4
- Technology – Years
5 – 6
- Languages Other
Than English (LOTE - AUSLAN).
At Wilsonton, students and teachers access the Australian Curriculum for all
learning areas.
We also have a Deputy Principal: Teaching and Learning onsite to
assist with the planning, implementation and assessment of curriculum content.
Assessment and reporting
Reporting is done twice yearly at the end of each semester.
Report cards are a formal way to report on student progress across the eight
Learning Areas.
We believe that the most valuable means of reporting student
progress is the Parent-Teacher interview. Parents and guardians are offered a
formal interview twice a year with class teachers. In addition to this, our
teachers are always willing to make a mutually suitable time to discuss your
child’s progress throughout the year.
Life education
Our students participate in the Life Education program every
year during Semester Two. Visit’s from Healthy Harold are enjoyable,
informative and always well received by all.
